Maungaraki, Lower Hutt

We've got a bit of a changing-of-the-guard happening in our flat, with two of our lovely wāhine getting married or moving overseas in December. That means two double rooms will be available in our Maungaraki home from December 2026/January 2027.

If you're looking for a place that feels more like a home than a flat, with big views, morning sun, veggie gardens, fruit trees, good kai and a few chickens in the backyard, read on!

Our home is at the end of a private shared lane, with off-street parking available. We're a 10-minute walk to Maungaraki Village, 5 minutes from SH2, about 6 minutes from Petone or Ava train stations, and around 20 minutes from central Wellington.

We share cooking and household responsibilities. Everyone cooks one night a week, and whoever is home usually eats together. We love tasty, nutritious kai and enjoy sharing life together. We're Christians and see our home as a place to live out our faith, while also respecting personal space and downtime. Most of us have busy schedules, but we always enjoy a good yarn when we can.

We're involved in our church communities and are fairly social, especially if cards or board games make an appearance. We enjoy hosting from time to time, though we're definitely not a party house.

We're looking for two working or studying women who are friendly, easy-going, and keen to be part of a household where we share kai, life, and the occasional (optional) fiercely contested board game. Ideally, you'll share our Christian faith and value cleanliness, respect, and community.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you. Send us a message telling us a bit about yourself, what you're up to, and what you're looking for in a flat.
